Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of bankstatement.dev (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What the Service does
The Service extracts transactions from PDF bank and credit-card statements and returns them as a spreadsheet (CSV, Xero, or OFX). Extraction is automated.
2. Accuracy is not guaranteed — verify before you rely
The Service checks each conversion against your statement's own opening and closing balance and tells you whether it reconciled. That check is a strong signal, not a guarantee. Automated extraction can still contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before using or relying on them. The Service does not provide financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable use
You may only upload statements you have the right to use. Don't use the Service for anything unlawful, don't attempt to breach or overload it, and don't exceed the usage limits of your plan or automate abuse.
5. Usage limits
Free accounts include a monthly conversion allowance shown in your usage meter. We may adjust limits and introduce paid plans.
6. Your data and ours
You own your statements and the spreadsheets you produce. We own the Service, its software, and branding. Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. We do not warrant that outputs are error-free or that the Service will be uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions made based on the Service's outputs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or US $50.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Your State], USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; we'll revise the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
